Karen Morin,RN

Karen Morin is an Oncology and Hospice RN who began her healthcare career in Radiology and later worked for the manufacturers of CT and MRI equipment.  Upon completing her nursing education in Los Angeles  Ms. Morin worked on an AIDS unit before moving to the Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles.  She has extensive experience as a home hospice nurse and facilitated the metastatic and caregiver support groups, and served as the Oncology Resource Nurse at weSPARK Cancer Support Center in Sherman Oaks.  She has been a health care and end-of-life advocate for over thirty years.  She currently serves on the Board of Directors at weSPARK Cancer Support Center.

She is the founder of LA Patient Advocates which provides education, advocacy, and personal support to Californians at End of Life including support to Medical Aid in Dying patients and all end-of-life options.  It also provides health advocacy for patients and families at any point during diagnosis or treatment.  Ms. Morin previously served as the Southern California Team Leader of the End-of-Life Volunteers for Compassion & Choices and now is part of the Southern California Action Team. Compassion & Choices is the nation’s oldest, largest, and most active advocacy nonprofit organization working to improve care and expand options at the End of Life.

She speaks to community groups and Cancer Support Centers and has appeared on radio programs and as part of medical conferences as well as medical and hospice organizations about all End of Life Options and California’s Medical Aid in Dying Law.

She was a Founding Director of End of Life Choices California
